OUTlander Spring Festival Features LGBTQ Artists Alongside SXSW

As an answer to the lack of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) artists at Texas’ annual South By Southwest (SXSW) music festival, The OUTlander Spring Festival has emerged.

The five-day festival will showcase local, national and international LGBTQ performers, right in the midst of the more high-profile SXSW, as Autostraddle points out.

Among the featured performers to appear at the festival, which runs March 8 -- 16, are "The Voice" veteran Tje Austin, Laura Forster and the Severed Strings, Grrlz Will Be Boiz and Alsace Carcione. Check out the full lineup here.

Of course, the festival goes beyond just music. The OUT Project has teamed up with One More Lesbian and Tello Films to showcase a myriad of web series, presented at an event titled, “Main Screen.”

Although LGBTQ artists won’t be highlighted too much at SXSW, Latinos will be front-and-center. The popular music festival has devoted an entire section of its website to Latin Rock and one of the most highly discussed lectures will be “Latinos y Mobile.”
