Boy With A Rare Muscle Condition And His 3-Legged Dog Have A Wonderful Relationship

The Wonderful Relationship Between A Boy With A Rare Muscle Condition And His 3-Legged Dog

There's nothing quite like the bond between a boy and his dog. Owen Howkins, 8, and his beloved three-legged pup, Haatchi, are proof of that.

We first met the pair more than a year ago, when a video of them went viral. Owen has a rare muscle condition called Schwartz-Jampel Syndrome, which causes his muscles to always be in a state of tension, according to the video below.

Before he met Haatchi, an Anatolian shepherd dog, Owen was nervous to ever leave his house because he felt different, according to ITV This Morning. But that all changed.

"[Haatchi] does look after me," Owen says in the video below. "He's special."

Now, their extraordinary relationship is back in the spotlight with the short film, "A Boy and His Dog," which was created to raise awareness about Schwartz-Jampel Syndrome.

The film (below) is 9 minutes long, but its length hasn't stopped it from racking up nearly a million views on YouTube in only a few days. Owen and Haatchi's relationship is worth every minute.

"When Haatchi came, I wasn't scared," Owen told ITV. "He changed my life."
