A college in Augusta, Georgia, was put on lockdown after a reported shooting on Monday afternoon, less than a day after two suspects fired shots in a dorm.
A Paine College student suffered a non-life threatening wound on Monday, according to a Richmond County sheriff's spokesman speaking with the Augusta Chronicle.
A suspect was in custody, the Associated Press reported.
At least one student was shot in a campus building, the sheriff's office said.
The shooting was reported around 1 p.m. and led officials to impose a lockdown also at nearby Georgia Regents University, station WJBF reported. Georgia Regents University's lifted the safety measure soon after the suspect was taken into custody.
Monday's alleged incident follows a shooting Sunday afternoon in which a gun was fired at a residence hall for men, WFXG reported.
One student was injured when he fell trying to escape and another was hit in the shoulder with bullet fragments outside the dorm, according to the August Chronicle.
The suspects fled in that shooting and were not Paine College students, officials said
A sergeant from the Richmond County sheriff's office said they're unsure if Monday's incident was related to Sunday's violence, according to WJBF.
About 800 students attend the historic black college 140 miles east of Atlanta, according to the Associated Press.
