Palm Coast Publix Car Crash: Video Shows Thelma Wagenhoffer Smashing Into Palm Coast Grocery Store Entrance (VIDEO)

VIDEO: Woman Crashes Into Publix

Newly released raw video shows the horrifying moment an elderly driver smashed through the entrance of a Publix supermarket in Palm Coast on Saturday afternoon, striking 10 people including a baby.

No one was killed in the crash, for which 76-year-old Thelma Wagenhoffer was charged with careless driving on Tuesday.

Three people remain hospitalized, including an 83-year-old man who was pinned beneath Wagenhoffer's Toyota Camry when it came to rest an estimated 40-50 feet from the storefront.

"When you see the video you realize it's a miracle no one got killed," Florida Highway Patrol Captain Jerry Crews told the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

The baby, 3-month-old Tyshawn Davis, was one of those nearest the doors and struck first. Amazingly, he was found without serious injury, still strapped into his stroller with a bump on the head.

"[A Publix customer assisting the injured] came out and said, 'Corporal, can you hold the baby?'" Flagler County Sheriff's Cpl. David Williams said Wednesday. "It didn't even look like the baby had been involved, but I could see the mother was covered with glass and blood. Absolutely the baby was protected by the grace of God."

Wagenhoffer was not injured in the crash, which came less than two weeks after a small plane crashed into a Publix in nearby Deland. FHP officials have said there was no mechanical problem with her vehicle.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of the story reported Wagenhoffer had been charged with reckless driving. She has been charged with careless driving.
