The fashion and design communities were abuzz when Pantone announced the 2014 color of the year, Radiant Orchid, which according to their site "blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination."
But Radiant Orchid isn't your bag (though we're not quite sure why that would be the case). As an alternative, you can now learn more about an array of Pantone shades and the adjectives attached to them with Colorstrology: What Your Birthday Color Says About You by Michele Bernhardt [Quirk Books, $19.95]. As its title implies, the book uses descriptions gleaned from astrology to determine which color is better suited for your month or day of birth. We can't speak to the reliability of this assessment, but hey, it's fun to speculate!
