There's a reason there are so many shapes of pasta to choose from. They're not just there to mix things up when you get tired of eating penne. The shapes come from specific regions, where different sauces are enjoyed based upon which ingredients are local to the area. So, in other words, there's a right pasta shape for your sauce and it's time you knew what's what. Certain shapes will hold certain sauces better, making for a much tastier meal.
