Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts (R) won his re-election bid, defeating Independent candidate Greg Orman in the midterm elections, according to CBS and Fox News.
Roberts was also battling against Democrat Chad Taylor until September 2014, when Taylor withdrew from the race and requested his name be removed from the ballot. After a dispute between Taylor and the Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, the state Supreme Court ordered Kansas to remove Taylor's name.
Roberts was first elected to the Senate in 1996, and before that, served as a member of the House of Representatives.
