Patent Troll T-Shirt: Newegg's Sale Proceeds Help Fight 'Bad Patents Targeting Small Businesses':

Don't settle. Settling feeds patent trolls.

That's what online tech store has this to say to victims of patent trolls, the guys who buy up patents and then sue your small business for, say, every time you ever uploaded a fax into an email (that really happened).

The proceeds of Newegg's new T-shirt will go to fighting said patent trolls in court. The shirt warns victims not to settle in court -- that's how patent trolls get all of their money.

"We've been proudly kicking patent trolls' asses for eight years -- it's terrible what they're doing to small companies that can't defend themselves," Lee Cheng, Newegg's chief legal officer, told The Huffington Post. "It's the [patent] litigation that's kicking everyone's butt. The only thing we can do is fight the patent itself."

He hopes to raise around $30,000 to fight patents that will affect thousands of businesses. The shirt, which features a billy goat kicking a troll's butt, goes for $20 on

Cheng said he wants Newegg to be a leader in the fight against patent trolls. Patent troll cases make up the majority of all patent cases in the United States.
