Recent allegations claim that Gov. David Paterson was seen affectionately dining an unidentified woman, who is not his wife. A Paterson spokesperson has now claimed this story an "outright lie."
The New York Post broke the story early Sunday morning after being tipped off about the situation.
"She was very attractive," McGuirt said of Paterson's friend. "They were very close together. He was leaning over and very touching. They were like teenagers."
In response to the incident, New York Post has reported that Gov. Paterson's office denies the allegations.
His spokeswoman Marissa Shorenstein said, "Gov. Paterson was having lunch with a friend at a public restaurant and any insinuation of improper behavior is absolutely false."
Asked whether the governor was kissing the woman on the neck between bites, Shorenstein responded, "He says that's absolutely false."
In 2008, shortly after taking office, Paterson admitted to having several extramarital affairs, as did his wife, Michelle Paterson. In a March 2008 article, New York Daily News reported that problems within their marriage lead to infidelity.
In a stunning revelation, both Paterson, 53, and his wife, Michelle, 46, acknowledged in a joint interview they each had intimate relationships with others during a rocky period in their marriage several years ago.
While the couple has had problems in the past, Michelle is not worried about the state her marriage.
When asked if she worried about "other women," given how much time she and her husband spend apart, she replied, "Not really. I have a philosophy in life: You have to let people live their life. I feel my husband loves me and is devoted to the family. And I know he loves me. I am not going to worry about that stuff."
