Patricia Arquette Cast In Jeff Buckley Biopic

Hallelujah! Jeff Buckley finally has a mother.

Patricia Arquettehas reportedly signed on to play Mary Guibert, Jeff's mother, in Jake Scott's upcoming Jeff Buckley biopic starring Reeve Carney. According to Variety, Arquette will mostly appear in childhood flashbacks; but the role is not to be taken lightly. After all, Guibert was the one responsible kick-starting her son's career when she convinced him to perform in a 1991 tribute concert to his father Tim Buckley.

As for what the real Mary Guibert thinks of Scott's casting decisions, she couldn't be happier to have the "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" actor as her "son." "We are over the moon that Reeve has agreed to take on this challenging role," she told Comingsoon.net. "I've seen him perform several times... he's been getting ready for this all his life. It certainly doesn't hurt that he looks so much like Jeff."

The film is not to be confused with "Greetings From Tim Buckley," starring Penn Badgley, which is also in the works. May the best Buckley biopic win!
