Patrick Caffrey, US Airman, Reunites With Family During Idaho Steelheads Game

Airman's Reunion With Family During Hockey Game Is A Serious Tearjerker

The crowd at the Idaho Steelheads game in Boise on December 7 thought they were just watching a regular halftime show.

Little did they know that the parents attempting to score goals on the ice would be reuniting with their son after two years.

Airman Patrick Caffrey had been stationed at Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi, and was getting ready for a six-month deployment starting in April.

He'd told his family that he wouldn't be able to make it home this holiday season. But instead, he set up a halftime contest, knowing he was going to make an entrance on the ice, disguised as a goalie.

Watch the moment unfold in the video above.
