"Overly Attached Girlfriend" might have just met her match. In fact, he might as well be her brother, because they look exactly the same.
Patrick Gill was repeatedly told he resembled the YouTube sensation-turned-Internet meme that had taken over the web a few weeks earlier. But just this past weekend, he got official confirmation and his very own meme.
At the urging of a friend, the high school student posted a picture of himself to Reddit with the words "My friends keep reminding me I look like a certain someone..."
And as it turns out, the Internet agreed.
Gill told the Daily Dot the response was overwhelming.
"I certainly expected the compliments and criticism once I found out it was a trending picture, but it was hard to actually take in all at once," he said.
Although some poke fun at the idea of an "overly attached" partner, others know the reality isn't too far from the witty meme text.
XO Jane blogger Emily McCombs described her experience with an ex-boyfriend as "seriously clingy, until his every move started to feel like the skittering of little kitten claws across my bare skin, unable to latch on."
Since "Overly Attached Girlfriend" first hit viral fame with her rendition of Bieber's hit song "Boyfriend," Laina Morris has kept fans on their feet with other tunes, such as "Call Me Maybe," and a mashup of love songs.
Could it only a matter of time until we see the pair team up for an uber-creepy duet? We sure hope so.
