Patrick Robinson Takes To Kickstarter To Launch PASKHO (VIDEO)

Patrick Robinson Launches Active Wear Brand After Leaving The Gap

Since his departure -- er, firing -- from Gap, Patrick Robinson has stayed pretty quiet on the fashion front. His newly-announced project, however, may just put him back on the map.

The former executive vice president of Gap Global Design is launching a line of luxury active and lounge wear for athletes called PASKHO. But something tells us investors weren't exactly falling all over themselves to join in on Robinson's new venture -- the designer is funding it through Kickstarter.com.

Unlike his previous work with the global mass retailer, PASKHO will "connect directly with his consumers, encouraging feedback and participation at every turn," according to a press release. Customers will vote on new products and provide feedback that will directly effect production -- meaning, if a garment isn't popular from the get-go, it won't be made at all.

Clearly, Robinson is looking to shake things up a bit. On his Kickstarter page, he explains his desire to get back to basics in his career:

"Somewhere between Giorgio Armani and the GAP, I had stopped designing clothes and had instead become the guy who manages the people who design the clothes."

Let's keep our fingers crossed that Robinson's latest endeavor sticks. Like many fashion designers, his track record in the industry is a bit erratic. Aside from Gap, he's held positions at Armani, Anne Klein, Perry Ellis and Paco Rabanne and has endured many ups and downs (firings, entire collections abandoned before production, etc).

All money raised on the PASKHO Kickstarter will go towards producing the garments that have been ordered. Pre-sale will start at the end of the month, but the first collection will be shipped in June.
