Patrick Schwarzenegger Joins Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' Foundation For Fall Campaign

Lady Gaga's Most High-Profile New Ally?

Lady Gaga's anti-bullying organization has found a high-profile new ally: Patrick Schwarzenegger.

The 18-year-old son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Schriver recently shot a public service announcement in conjunction with the Born This Way Foundation's new collaboration with Office Depot, which allows students to purchase bracelets, gift cards and other specialty items with anti-bullying messages, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Praising the message of the foundation as "promoting bravery and acceptance," Patrick said of Lady Gaga, "She was bullied and obviously some people were cruel and mean to her when she was growing up. But I think the world and society accepted who she was. And now her level of fame and success shows other kids that they can really be who they are."

Patrick seems to be following in the footsteps of his famous father, who, when serving as governor of California, was praised for his evolving views on marriage equality and other lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights. As the Los Angeles Times reported, Schwarzenegger publicly opposed Prop 8, the state's voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage, even comparing the struggles of local LGBT rights advocates to his early years as a bodybuilder: "I learned that you should never ever give up...They should never give up. They should be on it and on it until they get it done."
