Patti LaBelle sure knows how to connect with her super fans.

In November, James Wright Chanel sang his way to viral YouTube stardom when he first tried Patti LaBelle's sweet potato pies. Now he'll whip some up alongside the legendary diva on her holiday cooking show on the Cooking Channel, People reports.

Patti's Pies are practically stuff of legend. The pies sold out at all Walmart locations (and caused an eBay frenzy) the same weekend after Chanel's video published last month.

Since then, Chanel and LaBelle have gotten quite friendly, even celebrating Thanksgiving together.

"It’s one of those blessed stories,” LaBelle told People. “For his birthday, which is Thanksgiving, we were at my home. I invited him to dinner before I even met him.”

Chanel ended his initial video review telling LaBelle, "you are my friend." But after getting to know the songstress personally, he began calling her "momma."

Their newfound relationship won't end in the kitchen. The duo reportedly has plans to perform in a concert together.

"We’re going to perform in more ways than one," LaBelle told People."He can be my lead singer and I’ll be his background singer."

The LaBelle-Chanel holiday special will air Dec. 16 on the Cooking Channel.
