Patton Oswalt Wishes Donald Trump 'Good Luck' After VP Debate

The comedian had the perfect response to Trump's tweet in support of Mike Pence.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump live-tweeted the vice presidential debate Tuesday night between his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, and Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.).

While Trump spent much of his time retweeting insults like “Kaine looks like an evil crook out of the Batman movies” and “Kaine looks like a fool!!”, Trump finished the debate by tweeting praise for Pence.

“Mike Pence won big. We should all be proud of Mike!” Trump wrote.

In response to that tweet, comedian Patton Oswalt took a moment to be a voice of reason:

Quite a bit of the debate focused on Trump, with Kaine repeatedly challenging Pence to defend Trump’s various questionable statements and decisions throughout the campaign. Pence decided to dodge, and often went with a weak defense built on lying that Trump didn’t say the things Kaine was claiming.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.
