Two remarkable things happened as the Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers battled it out in overtime in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals.
First, Steph Curry made his debut after two weeks off due to a knee injury, and played the best overtime in NBA history, regular or postseason.
After getting off to a shaky start, Curry ignited in the extra 5 minutes, scoring an NBA record of 17 points. His return to form came complete with a series of precision-drilled threes in overtime, netting a total of 40 points for the game and helping the Warriors to win 132 to 125.
The Warriors now have the chance to seal the deal in Game 5 on Wednesday.

That brings us to the second, and perhaps even more arresting occurrence of overtime: watching the spirit of Blazers owner and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen being broken on live television.
With about a minute to play in overtime, Curry nailed one of his signature threes, putting the Warriors up 128 to 120. The cameras panned to Allen, and the rest of the world disappeared. All that was left was a man, and his complete devastation.
Judging by social media's reaction to the look on Allen’s face, it was not one that will soon be forgotten, and may even join the ranks of the storied "Crying Jordan."
