The San Fernando Valley-born beauty began her career as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers and quickly became one of the most sought-after choreographers and singers of the '80s. Abdul continued to impress us with her dance moves, punchy leotards and eventually, kind words on "American Idol."
