Paula Abdul's Beauty Evolution: From 'Straight Up' 80s Ponytails To Big 'American Idol' Hairstyles (PHOTOS)

Paula Abdul's 'Straight Up' Hair & Makeup

When it comes to performing, Paula Abdul always puts her game face on. The San Fernando Valley-born beauty went from sporting feathered curls and loads of bronzer as a Lakers Girl to a teased hairdo and frosty lipstick-wearing choreographer for The Jacksons, Prince and Duran Duran. And as she stole the spotlight with '80s dance hits like "Straight Up," "Opposites Attract" and "Cold Hearted," Abdul's high ponytails, bold brows and brick-red lips became her signature look.

The Grammy Award-winning entertainer's climb up the pop charts may have been marred by tabloid headlines, however, she won us over again as an "American Idol" judge -- bringing her sweet critiques, voluminous hair and glossy lips back into our homes on weeknights. And even though Abdul has left the judges' table, she continues to show off her flashy style on the red carpet.

As Paula Abdul celebrates her 50th birthday on June 19th, we're taking a look back at the pop music icon's makeup and hair over the years. Vote on all her looks in the slideshow below.
