The 'Pawn Stars' Appraise A Signed Copy Of Edward VIII's Memoirs

The love story between Edward, Prince of Wales and Wallis Simpson was one of the most memorable of the 20th century. As heir to the British throne he was forbidden from marrying a divorcee, and so after his accession, King Edward VIII -- uncle of Queen Elizabeth II -- made the heart-wrenching decision to abdicate the throne.

The couple lived in exile as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor thereafter. They both wrote memoirs of their lives, copies of which ended up with the "Pawn Stars" (Mon., 10 p.m. EST on History), who brought in Rebecca to give an appraisal.

What price love? "A King's Story" was a limited edition, number 227, signed "Edward" by the Duke of Windsor. Rebecca valued it at $2,500 and Rick Harrison offered $2,000.

Would the owner part with such a piece of history for that price? "Yeah, I can do that," he said.
