'Pawn Stars': Customer Brings In Rare $1,000 Bill Nearly One Hundred Years Old (VIDEO)

'Pawn Stars': Rare $1,000 Bill

Anybody would be happy to receive $1,000 from a relative. But if it's a $1,000 bill from 1918, then it's a rare find indeed. A customer brought one of these into the shop on "Pawn Stars." He'd received it from his grandmother. According to the show, only 150 of those notes were ever produced, making it a true collectors item.

"Very few people were walking around with these so there’s not a lot in circulation," shop co-owner Rick Harrison said. "I’ve seen lots of old, high-dollar bills like this go for tens of thousands of dollars."

He paid $2,500 for the note and sent it off to the Federal Reserve to get graded. After it was graded at "25/very fine," Rick estimated its worth at about $7,000.

In other words, keep an eye on unusual money. It may be worth a lot more than face value. And keep watching "Pawn Stars" on Mondays at 10 p.m. EST On History.
