Peace Arrives When You Take Action

Life is happening now -- with or without you. So gather your courage, stop listening to everybody else's negativity (pssst, they are just telling you their own fears) and rock the socks off of your big, audacious goals list!

There comes a time in life when you know it's time to change and not just in an "I should stop eating frozen pizza every night" kind of way.

This is a real, feel-it-in-your-bones change. The kind that knocks you over and asks: "Are you strong enough?" "Are you REALLY ready?"

This is the time to leap. To take the chance. To realize if you don't do it now you may never do it. To understand that if you give it your all and you fail, at least you know in your soul that you really tried.

You receive peace in this kind of change -- whether it works out and you are successful or whether you're laying in a bathtub with the shower running questioning everything.

At the end of the day you took action! You grew a little (or a lot) and you are STRONGER for it. It's freeing -- to let go of your old frame of mind and step into action toward your dreams.

Scary -- sure -- but everything is scary if your ego catches wind that you're trying to change.

Ego is kind of like an over-protective mother -- it just wants you to be safe. Sure it wants you to experience life but not if it means facing your fears and chasing your dreams!

Don't listen to your Ego. Listen to your Heart.

Peace is knowing -- in the depths of your soul -- that you can do it. That you are living and breathing because you need to do YOUR thing and you will do what it takes to make it happen (yes -- even make that phone call to the local wellness center to teach your class or give that groundbreaking presentation at work).

I can hear your ego now by the way: "Why should we put our hearts out there? Why risk it? Isn't it better to continue on with life as it is? We have a puppy and an apartment and a 9-5 job. Isn't everything dandy? Let's go watch an episode of How I Met Your Mother."

Well that's all well and good (I happen to like watching an occasional episode of How I Met Your Mother) but your heart isn't satisfied with that. Your heart wants to help people, to learn, to be seen, to be heard and to do the thing you love to do.

Life is happening now -- with or without you. So gather your courage, stop listening to everybody else's negativity (pssst, they are just telling you their own fears) and rock the socks off of your big, audacious goals list!
