Penn State Scandal: Jerry Sandusky Interview With Bob Costas Brought Victim 1 To Tears (VIDEO)

Alleged Sandusky Victim "Afraid He'll Go Free"

Among the 3.87 million viewers who watched Bob Costas interview accused child rapist Jerry Sandusky on NBC's "Rock Center" on Monday was at least one of the alleged victims of former Penn State defensive coordinator.

"It sickened me that he would be on TV, said the mother of the child identified as "Victim 1" in the grand jury report. "I think he made himself look more guilty."

Speaking with Jim Avila of ABC News, the mother, whose appearance was obscured and voice altered to protect the identity of her son, addressed Sandusky's claims that his interactions with these underage boys were nothing more than horse play. "No it's not games," she said. "It's a planned out stratgey to groom children to molest."

The mother revealed that Sandusky's telephone interview reduced her son to tears. Asked by his mother what in particular made him so upset, the alleged victim responded, "because I'm afraid, afraid he'll go free."

"It makes me really mad that my son can't out and have a normal life," she told Avila. "He can't go out and hang out at the mall because he might run into Jerry."

WATCH INTERVIEW ABOVEThe alleged victims of Sandusky must live with the fear of encountering him because he was granted a bail far lower than the $500,000 that the prosecution requested. Instead, District Judge Leslie Dutchcot ordered Sandusky be feed on an unsecured $100,000 bail. Under these conditions, he does not pay anything unless he does not turn up for his court dates.

It has since become public that Judge Dutchcot had previously volunteered with The Second Mile, a charity run by Sandusky.

The mother of Victim 1 had previously appeared on "Good Morning America" last week, also with her identity protected, to speak out on behalf of her son. In that appearance she detailed the moment she learned about her son's alleged abuse.
