For the First Time, President-Elect Donald Trump Meets Face to Face With President Of The United States Barack Obama in the Oval Office Of The White House on November 10th.
WHITE HOUSE- Nov 10th after a stunning election victory for the Republicans, the President-elect Donald Trump for the first time met with the President Barack Obama in the Oval office.
“This was a meeting that was going to last for maybe 10 or 15 minutes. We were just going to get to know each other. We had never met each other. I have great respect.”- Peotus Trump said. The meeting between Trump and Obama lasted a good 90 minutes, Trump remarks that as far as he is concerned their meeting could have lasted for much longer. Trump stated they discussed different situations with some wonderful and some difficult. Trump also remarked looking forward to dealing with the President in the future including getting some counsel from him.
Peotus called Potus, “A very good man” as the meeting wrapped up.
The president Obama stated the conversation with the President-elect Trump was wide-ranging from discussion about some of the organizational issues in setting up the White House to discussing about foreign policy. Obama emphasized that just as he noted in his first statement post-election Trump win, his main focus in the next 72 days leading to Trump inauguration in January 2017 is to ensure and facilitate a transition that is smooth for the President-elect to be successful.
Obama stated feeling encouraged by the President-elect’s interest in working together around many of the issues the country faces. Regardless of any political preferences or party, to now come together, work together and deal with the many challenges faced is the most important for everyone, Obama said.
First Lady Michelle Obama met with the incoming First Lady Melania on this visit as well, as a way to ensure the new First Family feel welcome as they prepare to make this transition.

To conclude their meeting, Obama remarked to Trump, “We are now going to do everything we can to help you succeed-- because if you succeed, then the country succeeds.”
