We've never been so pumped about periods.
Author and slam poet Dominique Christina took to the stage this past May to teach all the "dummies" who don't quite understand the power of the period. In response to a male Twitter user who shamed women for menstruating, Christina wrote this poem to her daughter, explaining why she should be proud of her body's ability to do amazing things.
From a quick anatomy lesson to a tutorial in feminist politics, Christina's fierce critique of this "dummy on twitter" had us jumping up and down at our desks. “Should any fool mishandle the wild geography of your body… then just bleed boo. Give that blood a biblical name," Christina recited.
Brava, Christina. Period party, anyone?
