Every August, the Earth passes through the debris left behind by the Comet 109P, resulting in the shower. This year, the celestial lights will be brightest from August 11-13, but you can catch some meteors in the sky every night until August 22.

If you're worried about the city lights getting in the way of your date night, Huff Post SF has rounded up the best places to watch the natural show without disturbance. You're welcome.

The meteor shower will be brightest every night after midnight. Remember to allow 10-15 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the dark in order to see anything.
