NYC Cats And Dogs Available For Adoption (PHOTOS)

'Tis the season to bring a furry friend into your home. We contacted local shelter Animal Haven to help showcase some adorably cute dogs and cats that are up for adoption.

Of course, such decisions should not be taken lightly, as pet ownership comes with a lot of responsibility (they need love, walks, food!).

Here's how it works at Animal Haven: You peruse the available puppydogs and pussycats, decide which one you'd like to adopt (you can go to the SoHo shelter to meet them in person) and fill out the online application. You'll be asked for a personal reference, landlord information and a vet (if you already have pets). Cats can usually go home the same day, while dogs may take a day or two. There's an adoption fee, which includes all vaccinations, a microchip, and spay/neutering.
