"Saturday Night Live" is only getting one new featured player this season, and his name is Pete Davidson. The rising standup comedian will appear on the 40th season of "Saturday Night Live," according to Deadline.com.

Handpicked by Lorne Michaels, Davidson joins Michael Che as new additions to the "SNL" cast. The 20-year-old New Yorker -- no, he can't legally buy beer! -- was named one of Variety's 10 Comics to Watch this year and has been doing comedy since he was 16. You might recognize him from "Wild 'N Out," MTV2's "Guy Code," his set on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" or his TV debut on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."

Last season, "SNL" introduced six new featured players: Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, Noël Wells, John Milhiser, Brooks Wheelan and Michael Patrick O’Brien, as well as the mid-season addition of Sasheer Zamata. However, three rookies won't be returning this year, including Wheelan (who claimed he was fired), Wells and Milhiser, as well as long-time member Nasim Pedrad. O'Brien, who was a writer on the show for four years before his on-screen debut last season, will return to the writer's room.

Another change-up at "SNL" this season is Che, the newest addition to "Weekend Update." "The Daily Show" correspondent and "SNL" writer will replace Cecily Strong as co-host alongside Colin Jost.
