King: Paul Is 'Scaring Americans'

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) criticized Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) Sunday, saying the Kentucky Republican is scaring the American people.

"Here's a person who said we're more concerned about the CIA killing Americans with drones as they're having coffee in Starbucks, who said that the director of National Intelligence should be in the same jail as [Edward] Snowden," King said on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday. "This, to me, is scaring Americans."

King accused Paul of telling Americans "we can retreat from the world."

"The fact is, nothing can make the world more dangerous than if America did retreat... we have to be a strong and viable nation, and we cannot allow isolationists to take over the Republican party," King said.

King and Paul are long-time enemies, with the New York Republican once saying Paul "doesn't deserve" his spot in the U.S. Senate. In December 2013, King criticized Paul for his condemnation of Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, charging the Kentucky senator with having "disgraced his office."
