Pharrell Williams performed his hit song "Happy" from "Despicable Me 2" at the 86th annual Academy Awards on Sunday, and he left the entire audience feeling "like a room without a roof."
Williams might not have been accompanied by any minions for the performance, but he still managed to get the crowd excited as he belted out the uplifting and inspirational tune, which hit the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 last week.
A legion of backup dancers gave the performance an especially joyous feel, which Williams heightened even further when he jumped off of the stage to dance with Lupita Nyong'o, Meryl Streep and Amy Adams.
Williams wore his signature tall hat, this time in black, for the night's performance.
"Happy" was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original song, along with "Let it Go" from "Frozen," "The Moon Song" from "Her" and "Ordinary Love" from "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom."
Ellen DeGeneres hosted the star-studded awards show, which took place at Los Angeles' Dolby Theater. Follow all of the Oscars action with the live blog below.
