Before you go guilt tripping about that splurge-worthy item you've been eyeing for your Christmas wish list, consider this: You could be asking to spend the night in one of the most important icons of modern architecture -- Philip Johnson's Glass House.
Neiman Marcus has made that an actual possibility with the release of its 2013 Christmas Book last week, which features all manner of over-the-top gifts, including a $30,000 one-night stay at the weekend residence of world-renowned architect and art patron, Philip Johnson.
The New Canaan, Connecticut estate opened up to the public as a National Trust Historic Site in 2007 and includes 14 architectural structures, Johnson's modern painting and sculpture collection, a private library and 49 acres of landscaped grounds, all of which are included in the overnight package.
And since Christmas is, well, the season of giving, Neiman Marcus is letting you share the "Glass House Experience" with up to ten of your friends at Philip Johnson's table for a locally sourced, multi-course dinner.
