Phoenix Jones, Superhero, Asks Child To Punch Him, Noah Weinstein Ends Up In Cast

Kid Ends Up In A Cast After Punching Superhero

It's not every day you get a chance to punch a superhero in front of all your friends.

Eleven-year-old Noah Weinstein got the chance this week when Washington superhero Phoenix Jones asked the grade-schooler to hit him in the stomach as hard as he could while his classmates at Bellevue's Jewish Day School looked on.

"They were talking all about superheroes. [Phoenix] got up in front of the kids and was telling them all about his uniform, and it's rubberized and armored and bulletproof," said Weinstein's mom, who was only identified as Denise on KOMO. "My child gets up in front of him and [Phoenix] says to him, 'OK, give me all you got... give me your best punch, but wait, but don't do it too hard, you might get hurt.'"

And get hurt Weinstein did. Denise told the station that her son is in a cast with at least one broken finger, awaiting further x-rays.

Jones was at the school to talk about bullying and, during his speech, kids kept asking if they could punch him, the superhero's spokesperson, Peter Tangen, told the Seattle Post Intelligencer

Jones' arch nemeses, Rex Velvet, was quick to pounce on the superhero's PR nightmare, according to the Seattle Weekly.

Velvet tweeted, "Why did @ThePhoenixJones break a kids finger? A. Bc he left his pepper spray in the car."

Velvet's reference to pepper spray was a reference to an incident last week in which Jones and Seattle police pepper sprayed a man who punched a women.

Jones hasn't always been the one delivering punishment. The Telegraph reported that Jones was recently beat up after he tried to break up a fight.

Police have reportedly told Jones to stop trying to fight crime on his own and instead pickup the phone and call the cops.
