WASHINGTON -- There's a downside for reporters who use their iPhones as tape recorders at news conferences -- sometimes they ring.

And sometimes Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid answers them, because they are ringing on his lectern while he's trying to talk.

It wasn't immediately clear who forgot to silence his or her phone at the Tuesday press conference, but Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) thought he recognized the number.

"It's one of my hometown papers -- The New York Times has 862," Schumer said.
