Powder Dance: Photographer Geraldine Lamanna Captures Female Dancers In Motion (PHOTOS)

Stunning Dance Photos Inspired By Adele's ‘Rolling In The Deep’

Geraldine Lamanna's series of women in motion recently caught our eye on Flickr. The German photographer told HuffPost Arts about her inspiration for this 'powder dance' series in an e-mail:

I’ve always been intrigued by the beauty of dance, and wanted to catch its essence in photos, but felt that frozen images wouldn’t do justice to the emotional elegance of dance movements. Then I saw the music video of Adele’s "Rolling In The Deep." The idea to use powder for my dance shoot, to create an echo of the movement, was born.

I was glad that Olivia Maciejowski -- a great dance artist and teacher, living nearby in south Germany -- agreed to contribute her talent, together with two of her best dancing students, Birgit Kallweit and Sandra Chanthalangsy, to this project; an amazingly diverse and inspiring group of people.

To me the greatest compliment is that the mother of one dancer teared up when she first saw the final pictures.
