Piers Morgan Ratings Drop As First Week Progresses

Back To Ratings Reality?

After the highs of the first few days, Piers Morgan's ratings have begun to settle down.

1.025 million people tuned in to the fourth episode of "Piers Morgan Tonight," which featured an interview with Ricky Gervais, on CNN. That was good enough for second place, behind Fox News' "Hannity," which drew 2.079 million viewers. But it's still a big drop from the nearly 2.1 million viewers who watched Morgan's debut on Monday.

"Hannity" also beat Morgan in the A25-54 demo, netting 557,000 viewers to Morgan's 279,000. Morgan has maintained his wide lead over Larry King's numbers in the same time slot.

However, not all is doom and gloom for Morgan. He's maintained his wide lead over Larry King's numbers when he occupied the time slot, and he's giving MSNBC's Rachel Maddow a real challenger for second place behind Fox News.
