Pilot's-Eye View Catches Head-Skimming Landing Over St. Maarten's Maho Beach

Well this is only semi-terrifying.

If you're a daredevil, then chances are your bucket list includes Maho Beach, on the Caribbean island of St. Maarten. It's famous for its airport, where the runway is so close to the beach that planes literally whiz right over the heads of snorkelers and sunbathers below.

Wanna know what that feels like for a pilot? Take a look:

Uploaded earlier to YouTube in 2007, the landing videos resurfaced this week, and tourists were stunned anew at views of the touchdown from an actual cockpit.

The runway at Princess Juliana International Airport is just over 7,600-feet-long, bordering right on a public beach. Signs warn tourists that getting too close could result in harm or death... and it has.
