'Pineapple Express 2' Trailer Is J/K April Fools' Day, 'This Is The End' Viral Marketing Instead (VIDEO)

Seth Rogen And James Franco Made 'Pineapple Express 2' ... Sort Of

To celebrate April Fools' Day and simultaneously viral market the new film "This Is The End," Seth Rogen, James Franco and Danny McBride have put together a trailer for "Pineapple Express 2." This time, they must assassinate Woody Harrelson (played by Jonah Hill, because obviously). Thug life, indeed.

"This Is The End" is Rogen's apocalypse comedy where the actor cast his famous friends as variations on themselves (Franco, Hill and McBride are joined by Craig Robinson, Jay Baruchel and a cast of dozens). The comedy was co-written by Rogen and Evan Goldberg ("Superbad") and co-directed by the pair as well.

"We thought it'd be funny to see really famous people die in super graphic ways," Rogen said at WonderCon this weekend (via EW.com). "People were into it. At first we thought they'd be insulted or something like that — and some of them were -- but most of them weren't. They were into it."

"Pineapple Express," Rogen and Franco's stoner comedy with director David Gordon Green, was a sleeper hit in the summer of 2008. The trailer famously used the M.I.A. song "Paper Planes," but the film, unfortunately, failed to feature that track.
