As a photographer and instagrammer, I normally let the people in my pictures lead the scene; may it be a faraway presence or a small body part, I find that a hint of human presence gives more potential and character to my vision, and, somehow, I have troubles doing without it.
However, as a creative exercise, I decided to give myself a set of restrictions and see if I could find a way around them. First, I limited myself to objects and, second, I decided to combine two themes that have nothing in common and use one for the props and the other for the subject.
Ping Pong Tales, as a result, is a series of minimal posters of the most popular fairy tales that I realized styling and decorating ping pong rackets and balls only. This is how rackets became faces, planets, hot air balloons and their handles turned into noses, hats and tails; while ping pong balls were used to create reindeers, pigs, clouds and many other things.
This creative exercise has become an ongoing project and I am regularly posting additions to the series on a new, dedicated instagram account, intentionally_cute.
