Artist and 2009 MacArthur Fellow Mark Bradford will discuss Merchant Posters, the first comprehensive monograph of his work, with Hammer Museum Chief Curator Douglas Fogle. Published by Gregory R. Miller & Co., Merchant Posters surveys Bradford's textured works on paper and decollages/collages, and details the original printed posters -vivid local advertisements gathered from his Central Los Angeles neighborhood - that served as their source of inspiration.
