Dennis Hopper and Bruce Conner: The Nonconformists

A conversation exploring Bruce Conner's relationship with Dennis Hopper, featuring Toni Basil, Michael Kohn and Michelle Silva, and moderated by Barbara Seffen.

NOW Festival
REDCAT (Downtown)

The third and final week of REDCAT's annual NOW Festival will feature Once More, Again, One (Solo) by Hana van der Kolk, Myth and Infratstructure by Miwa Matreyek, and Replicant vs. Separatist by Alexandro Segade, a film which uses stylized comic-book action to construct a sci-fi tale of mandated marriage.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 7
Summer Group Show

The opening reception for a summer group show featuring works by Edgar Arceneaux, Whitney Bedford, Andrea Bowers, Jaen Callister, Sean Duffy, Nicole Eisenman, Charles Gaines, Karl Haendel, Jutta Koether, Alice Koenitz, Rodney McMillian, Martin McMurray, Wangechi Mutu, Elizabeth Neel, Ruben Ochoa, Amy Sillman, Joel Tauber and Tam Van Tran. A dinner by Karl Haendel will follow the reception.

Chinatown Summer Nights, Saturday nights through August, will feature gourmet food trucks, culinary demonstrations, Chinese cultural activities, live music and more. This Saturday, enjoy KCRW's DJ Raul Campos' musical offerings, an interactive dance workshop with Ballroom Madness, and Chinese calligraphy lessons from UCLA's Confuscius Institute.
