The opening reception for two new exhibitions: Michael Arcega displays sculptural works of common urban fixtures, constructed out of polytarp in reference of emergency tents and urban disasters. Las Vegas Studio: Images from the Archives of Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown

Offering insight into the creation of the groundbreaking 1972 publication, Learning from Las Vegas, which explored Las Vegas' eclectic architecture and its tangible connections to the city's bizarre social realm, the exhibition Las Vegas Studio: Images from the Archives of Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown presents original research materials from the archives of Venturi Scott Brown Associates, including a selection of photographs and films shot during the authors' research that were a crucial aspect of their architectural study. 30 Years of Art in L.A.: From Local to Global Perspectives

For The MOCA Contemporaries' fourth annual Art Panel Series, a range of experts will discuss "30 Years of Art in L.A.," exploring the evolution of contemporary art in Los Angeles and the city as an art center. Three monthly gatherings will consider: local and global perspectives, regional institutions and exhibitions, and practicing interdisciplinary art.
