Plane Skids Off Runway At New York's LaGuardia Airport

A plane landing at New York's LaGuardia airport has skidded off the runway and crashed into a fence.

Delta flight 1086 from Atlanta to New York landed during a snow storm and skidded off runway 13 at LaGuardia around 11 a.m. on Thursday.

The plane is currently leaking fuel, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Joe Pentangel told the Associated Press. The FDNY confirmed that 24 people suffered non-life threatening injuries, three of which required transportation to the hospital.

In a statement released by the airline, Delta said there were 125 passengers and five crew members on the plane.

"Our priority is ensuring our customers and crew members are safe," the statement said. "Delta will work with all authorities and stakeholders to look into what happened in this incident."

A passenger on the flight posted video of the plane's evacuation, writing, "Thank God! No one hurt."

The FAA has suspended all flights, closing the airport until at least 7 p.m.

The incident comes just one day after an airplane in Nepal skidded off a runway. All 224 passengers on board were unharmed, but thousands are now stranded following the runway closure.

This is a developing story.
