Children are the sunshine. Starting preschool is one of the biggest innovative milestone in a child’s life. With this all inclusive, gradually moving ahead, you won’t have to navigate the preschool process alone. You should think about the possibilities first considering the facts that is your child’s school you choose close to your house or to your work, how your child will go to and from school, so you won’t be having issues with the pick up and drop off. It is convenient for most of the parents to choose a school that is close to their home. If there is no such option for you, you can definitely look for other schools in the city.

Child’s interaction with other people

The very important thing is whether your child will cope in an environment with that many other children. When you make the appointment with the school’s representative, be sure to ask whether it is necessary or appropriate for you to bring your child along to the meeting. It is likely that when you meet with this person, you will be shown around the school. You should be asking questions about the school. Some basic knowledge to get is the class sizes, extra support available, teachers aid, scholarship schemes, strengths of the school are, details of EMIS (Education Management Information System used there (if any), the strengths of the teachers are and last what extracurricular activities are offered.

How can you help your kid?

You should make your kid get comfortable having other people around. It is important so that your kid adjusts to the social environment at school quickly. This would be easy once your kid gets involved in the nurseries and other early childhood development programs. Talk to the parents of the other children in your child’s class and help them to understand your child’s basic issues and necessities.

Don’t burden your child

Don’t Pressurize. Take this seriously. Let them do what they want, don’t force them to study every time, sometimes it depends on their mood as well. Help your child get used to of making time tables and following them. Teach him to include short breaks or power naps in between the study time.

The student-teacher bonding

The connection between child and teacher is more important than any curriculum. Have a conversation with a prospective teacher about their current classroom. Discuss them about the behavior of your child and her information of his background, interests, emotional and academic achievements. This all leads to a good teaching environment.

Help him learn

Don’t judge your child on the test scores only. Judge him on what he has learnt. Sometimes, good test scores would mean that your child has been taught to the test. Help him with his studies and learning. Focus on what he’s grasping from his lessons, rather than only preparing him for the tests. Don’t restrict the learning to books only. Children learn continuously, with everything they do. Make sure to allow him to try his artistic skills and showing his sportsmanship in the field as well.

You need to understand that your kid is trying hard to adjust in to the new environment. He just needs a push from you and some parental guidance to rise above all. This definitely, would be an incredible experience for you as well. Happy parenting!
