Plaxico Burress Rips Eli Manning, Tom Coughlin In Men's Journal Interview Over Lack Of Support

Plaxico Lashes Out At Eli Manning, Former Coach

Although Plaxico Burress and the New York Giants tried to play nice when the wide reciever was released from prison this summer, it turns out there actually are some hard feelings between Burress and his former team.

In an interview with Men's Journal, Burress ripped his former coach, Tom Coughlin, and Giants quarterback Eli Manning over how he was treated after he accidentally shot himself in the leg in 2008.

"After my situation happened, I turned on the TV, and the first words out his mouth was ‘sad and disappointing.’ I’m like, forget support — how about some concern? I did just have a bullet in my leg," Burress said. "And then I sat in his office, and he pushed back his chair and goes, ‘I’m glad you didn’t kill anybody!’ Man, we’re paid too much to be treated like kids. He doesn’t realize that we’re grown men and actually have kids of our own."

Talking about Manning, the Jets receiver said that he was his biggest supporter until he didn't hear from him during the two years he spent in prison.

"I don’t want to say it was a slap in the face, but I thought our relationship was better than that," he said.

Mike Mazzeo of ESPNNew York pointed out that the remarks were made before he met with the Giants during the shortened offseason.

Back in August when Burress signed with the Jets, he told reporters that there were no hard feelings between him and the Giants.
