See State Troopers 'Detain' The Grinch During Christmas Toy Drive

The grumpy character was cuffed for a tongue-in-cheek arrest photo.

The Grinch won't be stealing Christmas this year.

Georgia state troopers detained Dr. Seuss' fictional character at a children's toy drive in Moultrie on Friday morning, ActionNewsJax reported.

The Georgia Department of Public Safety posted a tongue-in-cheek picture to Facebook of the Grinch being cuffed next to a cruiser.

"For anyone wondering......... rest assured that all laws will still be enforced while your Georgia State Troopers are collecting for Toys for Tots," the lighthearted status said.

"Post 12 Troopers caught The Grinch attempting to steal Christmas in Moultrie, GA this morning," it added.

Bourne police department in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, pulled a similar festive stunt last Sunday when it issued an official wanted notice for the capture of an Elf on the Shelf.

Elsewhere in Massachusetts, Wakefield police department, in Middlesex County, also got into the holiday spirit with a tweet saying they'd seen an elf looking for work.
