Policlips Now: Obama's NCAA Bracket And A Lawmaker's Challenge To Voter ID Laws

It’s another week of Policlips Now, and this week politicians said some interesting(?) things on the topics of race and sports. According to one Nevada state legislator, racism doesn't exist. And of course President Barack Obama commented on his NCAA March Madness bracket. (He’s in it to win this year.)

Here are the highlights:

  • Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said Wednesday that Loretta Lynch, the first African-American woman to be nominated for U.S. attorney general, is being treated by Republicans the way Rosa Parks was treated in 1955 when she wanted a seat on a bus: sent to the back. -- (HuffPost's Jen Bendery)

  • Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) was (unsurprisingly) unapologetic for his letter to Iranian ayatollahs on CBS's "Face the Nation" Sunday. -- (HuffPost's Paul Blumenthal)
  • Nevada lawmaker Michele Fiore (R) said proposed voter identification legislation couldn't have a disproportionate impact on minorities because Obama was elected to office. -- (HuffPost's Samantha Lachman)
