We Got Top Pollsters To Recount The Most Bizarre Things They've Ever Polled

"Have you done focus groups on heavy menstrual bleeding?”

WASHINGTON -- The life of a pollster has its perks. You work on some of the most consequential elections, rub elbows with top business and political leaders and have access to unique, exclusive data.

But there are downsides too, like the occasional survey you must run that makes you cringe. In the latest episode of Drinking & Talking, we asked our esteemed panel to recount the worst focus group they’ve ever done or public survey they’ve ever conducted.

Anna Greenberg, a prominent Democratic pollster, basically took the cake.

“Have you done focus groups on heavy menstrual bleeding?” she asked Bill McInturff, a prominent Republican pollster, Amy Walter of the Cook Political Report and Mark Blumenthal of The Huffington Post.

Nope. Only you!

“I actually did some work on spaying and neutering your pets in the South,” she went on, referencing an entirely different survey. “The men felt very strongly about their dog’s balls.”

“As they should,” said McInturff.
