5-Year-Old Throws Dream Wedding For Butterball The Pony

Let's hope this doesn't end in div-horse.

Nobody got cold hooves at this lovely wedding on Saturday -- probably because the participants were ponies and had little to no idea what was going on.

Gabe Bush, a 5-year-old from Coushatta, Louisiana, came up with the idea to throw the nuptial ceremony for his Shetland pony, Ms. Butterball, after learning that his grandpa planned to breed her, local news station KSLA reports.

"My mom taught me how you gotta get married before you have babies," Gabe told KSLA.

Gabe decided that Butterball and the future father of her foals, Mr. Big Stuff, would have to have a proper wedding. (Cute, though we hope Gabe doesn’t grow up thinking that a woman literally can’t get pregnant unless she’s married -- or that there’s anything wrong with a woman who does.)

The boy’s grandfather, Richard Logan Sr. is a local minister and officiated the ceremony, according to CNN.

Having a four-legged bride and groom isn’t as rare as one might assume -- dog weddings appear to be getting increasingly common. Seriously. There are a lot of dog weddings.

We hope all of these couples are very happy.
