'Portlandia': Newspaper Bought By Aggregation Site, To Editor George Wendt's Dismay (VIDEO)

This Hits A Little Too Close To Home For Us

In this sketch from "Portlandia," a local newspaper reconfigures its business model to be a aggregation website focused explicitly on drawing in viewers with slideshows about sideboob, celebrity nip slips, stars with no makeup and stars with shaved heads. In other words, they cease being journalists, and become "linkalists" instead.

This sets off the ire of the paper's longtime editor, played by George Wendt, who recognizes that the industry is changing but isn't sure that generating monster traffic with stories titled "Charlize Theron NSFW" is why he got into journalism.
