Potato Salad Kickstarter Has Raised HOW MUCH? (UPDATED)

Potato Salad Kickstarter Has Raised HOW MUCH?

Sometimes, the Internet does something so passionate, so truly spectacular that you remember why you have love and respect for your fellow human beings.

This is not one of those times, unless you really, really love potato salad.

A Columbus, Ohio, man asked for just $10 on the popular crowdfunding website Kickstarter, so that he might accomplish his dream: "Basically I'm just making potato salad."

UPDATE: July 8, 8:42 a.m. -- Kickstarter donations for the project have now exceeded $35,000 with 25 days remaining.

This better be some damn good potato salad.

Zack Danger Brown, the creator of this joke-gone-viral, said on his page that he plans to have a potato salad party for all his backers willing to fly out to his home.

A man claiming to be Brown on Reddit expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support to make his dream come true, or whatever.

"Potato salad seems to unite people of all backgrounds and I think that's really wonderful," Reddit user ZTBrown said.

Donation prizes include a live stream of the potato salad making, and a hat that says "I Love Potato Salad," according to ABC6.

On his page, Brown said he hasn't decided what type of potato salad he plans to make. The world now waits with bated breath.

In the meantime, here are some awesome potato salad recipes from our Taste section that are bound to cost less than $8,000.
